OpenClaw: AI Agent Now Also Set to Control Sex Toys
The hype surrounding OpenClaw by Austrian developer Peter Steinberger is taking increasingly colorful forms: Lovense, a SexTech company based in Singapore, has now announced that it wants to control its sex toys via the open-source AI agent.
The Lovense Remote app, which allows users to remotely control vibrators, serves as another access point for the OpenClaw AI agent, alongside existing interfaces such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, and iMessage. The company positions this step as a “response to a shift from user-controlled AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Midjourney toward more autonomous, task-oriented AI agents,” as stated in a press release. The expanded app will not only take over control of intelligent Lovense products in the future, but also perform general assistant functions such as sending emails, scheduling appointments, and making online purchases.
Users are to gain access to a broad spectrum of services that go beyond the original core functionality of the product line. The company demonstrates the possible applications using concrete everyday scenarios in which the AI-powered app links various areas of life together.
Travel planning with automated device control
In the travel scenario, the expanded app takes over complete planning of long-distance trips for couples. The system creates travel itineraries, books flights and hotels, and selects appropriate products from the Lovense range based on user preferences. Before departure, the application sends packing reminders and weather updates as well as check-in confirmations.
During the flight, the so-called speed mode automatically adjusts the vibration patterns of wearable devices to match the flight speed. Voice commands allow users to request restaurant and activity recommendations on the go. The app dynamically regulates device functions according to the detected mood and environmental conditions of the users.
Remote-controlled date coordination
For long-distance relationships, the app offers automated date planning. After authorization by the users, the AI agent analyzes calendar entries, suggests suitable times, and notifies both partners. Before the virtual meeting, the system recommends films, music, and recipes for shared activities and creates shopping lists. A voice command such as “activate romantic mode” triggers a coordinated sequence: the app dims the lighting, starts music playback, and switches to a film channel, while identical commands are transmitted to the partner to synchronize their smart home environment. The music sync function aligns device vibration to the music rhythm.
With this OpenClaw integration, Lovense leverages the self-learning capabilities of the AI platform to provide users with support in various areas of life while simultaneously intensifying emotional interactions between partners. The technological development aims to bridge spatial distances through intelligent automation and establish new forms of remote interaction.
Security issues
Whether users ultimately want to leave control of their intimate lives to an AI agent is an open question. OpenClaw has also fallen into disrepute in the course of the hype in recent weeks, particularly due to security issues. AI researchers have shown that the AI agent, which users can install on their own computers, is highly vulnerable to malware, which could allow private data being processed to fall into the wrong hands. OpenClaw recently responded with a partnership with VirusTotal to protect the ClawHub skill marketplace from malicious extensions (more on that here).
