Bitpanda is rearranging its executive floor. Within a few months, the Vienna-based fintech unicorn has gained a sole CEO, a new finance chief, a new growth chief and a new executive in charge of compliance and risk. At the same time, the company is losing one of its most visible managers, Dominik Beier, to flatexDEGIRO.

Dominik Beier Becomes CGO at flatexDEGIRO

The latest departure has just become public: Dominik Beier, most recently Chief Commercial Officer at Bitpanda, where he was responsible for marketing, growth and international expansion, is moving to flatexDEGIRO AG. He takes up the newly created position of Chief Growth Officer in January 2027 and will report directly to CEO Oliver Behrens. His remit covers the group’s growth and brand strategy as well as the integration of product, customer experience and marketing. Before joining Bitpanda, the Vienna native was CEO of Interwetten Group and held leadership positions at Sportradar (more in our report: Austrian Dominik Beier moves from Bitpanda to flatexDEGIRO).

According to its own figures, flatexDEGIRO serves more than 3.5 million customers in 16 European countries and administers assets of over 100 billion euros.

Barbara Edelmann Succeeds Jonas Larsen as CFO

At almost the same time, Jonas Larsen publicly signed off as CFO of Bitpanda. Larsen spent around three years with the company and built up its finance, risk, compliance, AFC, CISO and internal audit functions. He joined Bitpanda from the Danish neobank Lunar, having previously spent more than ten years at Deloitte. “It’s been a wild ride,” he wrote in his farewell post on LinkedIn. He left his next step open.

His successor took over in early summer: Barbara Edelmann, who was promoted from within. She previously served as Vice President Finance & Tax at Bitpanda and as Managing Director of Bitpanda Payments GmbH, following 16 years in senior positions at Deloitte. According to the company, Larsen is leaving Bitpanda for personal reasons and by mutual agreement (Bitpanda appoints Barbara Edelmann as Chief Financial Officer).

Shirin Krall and Katrin Joschtel Join the Executive Committee

At the start of this week, Bitpanda announced two further additions to its Executive Committee: Shirin Krall becomes Chief Growth Officer, and Katrin Joschtel takes over as Senior Vice President Compliance, Risk & Anti-Financial Crime (AFC).

Krall began her career at McKinsey and was most recently Global Head of Retail Marketing at Revolut. At Bitpanda she brings user acquisition, performance marketing as well as brand and product marketing together into a single unit. Joschtel leads a newly consolidated second line of defense that combines compliance, risk, information security and AFC in one central function, and she reports to Chief Legal Officer Fabian Reinisch. She previously spent more than ten years in leadership roles at Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien, most recently as head of compliance.

“As we continue to expand our European platform and scale our global B2B infrastructure, it is essential to build growth on a strong regulatory foundation,” says CEO Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad. Reinisch points out that the entire second line is now being bundled under a shared mandate (Bitpanda strengthens its Executive Committee).

The Reshuffle Startet at the Founder Level

Last November, co-founder Eric Demuth stepped back from his role as co-CEO and became Executive Chairman of the board of directors of Bitpanda Group AG. Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad has run the company as sole CEO since then (Bitpanda: Eric Demuth steps back from co-CEO role). The two other co-founders, Paul Klanschek and Christian Trummer, had already withdrawn from operational roles before that.

Where the IPO Stands

Bloomberg reported on plans for a listing in Frankfurt in the first half of 2026, at a targeted valuation of four to five billion euros. That was never officially confirmed. Enzersdorfer-Konrad said most recently that an IPO remains a possible option, though it is only one of several conceivable routes.
