US startup HappyRobot has closed a Series C funding round of $150 million. The round is led by Prysm Capital, with Eurazeo as co-lead. The financing values the company at $1.2 billion post-money, making it a unicorn. HappyRobot’s total funding now stands at around $200 million.

Alongside existing investors a16z, Base10, and Y Combinator, several strategic backers joined the round, including Koch Disruptive Technologies, Kfund, Orange, T.Capital (Deutsche Telekom), Bankinter, Endeavor Catalyst — and WaVe-X, the corporate venture capital arm of Lower Austria’s WALTER GROUP. WaVe-X had already invested in HappyRobot’s Series B and is deepening its commitment with this follow-on investment. For the WaVe-X portfolio, which now comprises 13 holdings, HappyRobot is the first unicorn.

What HappyRobot Does

HappyRobot builds AI agents that plug into existing enterprise systems and autonomously handle communication- and coordination-heavy tasks — such as phone calls, emails, and cross-system handoffs that many companies still manage manually. The company first made its name in logistics; it now says it’s deployed with more than 150 enterprise customers, including DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, Naturgy, Repsol, and Uber.

Its expansion now extends into insurance, energy, telecommunications, and airlines.
CEO and co-founder Pablo Palafox frames the company’s goal as “enterprise superintelligence” — a vision in which agents and employees learn from one another, compounding an organization’s collective intelligence over time.

According to the company, new agents typically go live within four to twelve weeks and are continuously refined afterward. As examples, HappyRobot cites a customer automating 28,000 hours of work per month, and customer-service deployments achieving 9.4-out-of-10 satisfaction scores with autonomous resolution rates above 70 percent.

Fresh Capital for Expansion

With the new funding, HappyRobot plans to expand its platform, build out further enterprise integrations, and scale the infrastructure needed to deploy AI agents at scale. It also intends to keep growing its engineering, deployment, and go-to-market teams globally. Over the past year, the company has grown from two offices to eight locations across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Australia.

Significance for WaVe-X and WALTER GROUP

For WaVe-X, the investment carries strategic as well as financial weight: sister company LKW WALTER already uses HappyRobot’s technology in its operational transport business. “HappyRobot shows how AI can support our employees in their daily work. Our goal is to free people from routine tasks and give them more time for work where experience, creativity, and personal contact make the difference,” said Michael Gschwandtner, Chief Digital Officer of LKW WALTER.

Michal Lewandowski, Senior Investment Manager at WaVe-X, sees the unicorn status as validation of the firm’s early investment decision: “Even at our first investment, we saw a truly unique team that was extremely hungry to conquer the market.” He added that the milestone also shows how quickly agentic AI is transforming the real economy.

WaVe-X focuses its investments on technology companies in transport & logistics, manufacturing tech, proptech, and construction tech, and says it takes a long-term approach, backing companies across multiple funding rounds.
