Vienna’s Synaps Raises $3.6M Pre-Seed to Build “AI Canvas” for Architects
Vienna-based architecture software startup Synaps has closed a pre-seed funding round of USD 3.6 million. Investors include US venture capital firm Plug and Play as well as Fil Rouge Capital, the most active VC platform in the Adriatic and Balkan region, headquartered in Zagreb.
Product and Positioning
Synaps describes itself as an “AI Canvas” for architects and targets the estimated 200 million drafters worldwide who spend a significant portion of their working hours on design and rendering. The core product includes a generative, vector-based AI floor plan drawing tool called “Vecy AI,” which generates architectural floor plans based on text inputs.
The company was founded by three co-founders – Brendon Ahmeti (CEO), Agron Bajraktari, and Kevin Cobaj – who are of Albanian origin and have studied and lived in Vienna. The beta version was unveiled in Tirana in November 2025.
Key Figures at the Time of Announcement
Synaps reports the following user metrics as of early May 2026, around five months after the beta launch:
- 60,000 registered users in total
- 1,500 daily active users
- Several hundred paying customers
- 10 million people reached through social media campaigns
Next Steps
The launch of the first full version is planned for summer 2026. According to the company, it will include more than 20 new AI tools for drafting and post-production. Synaps has set a growth target of 300,000 users by the end of 2026. A seed round in the double-digit millions is also planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
In addition to its Vienna headquarters, the company has opened an office in San Francisco and has expanded its team from four to 17 employees since the beta launch.
Market Environment
Synaps is entering a segment dominated by established providers such as Autodesk with its AutoCAD product. Autodesk is listed on the Nasdaq and generates annual revenues of several billion US dollars. Synaps positions itself as an AI-native alternative with a focus on speed and simplified workflows.
