Apptronik raises $520 million for humanoid robots, valuation climbs to around $5 billion

AI robotics company Apptronik has closed a Series-A-X funding round worth $520 million. Investors include existing backers such as B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz and PEAK6, as well as new funders like AT&T Ventures, John Deere and the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). The expansion follows an oversubscribed initial Series A round of $415 million in 2025 and brings the total Series A funding to more than $935 million – in total, Apptronik has now raised nearly a billion dollars.

Apptronik achieves a valuation three times higher in the current funding round than in its first Series A: more than $5 billion. Strong investor interest prompted the Texas-based company to raise additional capital. The valuation increase underscores confidence in humanoid robots designed to support people across all areas of life.

Scaling Apollo production and global expansion

With the fresh capital, Apptronik plans to ramp up production of its humanoid robot Apollo and expand its global network of commercial deployments. The investment accelerates market entry and enables the establishment of state-of-the-art facilities for robot training and data collection. The company also plans to address use cases for its numerous customers in retail, manufacturing and logistics. For 2026, Apptronik is also announcing a new robot.

Apptronik has forged partnerships with global heavyweights, including Mercedes-Benz, GXO Logistics and Jabil. Particularly strategic is the cooperation with Google DeepMind on AI: Together, the partners are developing the next generation of humanoid robots, powered by Gemini Robotics. The current Apollo model handles physically demanding work in manufacturing and logistics – from component transport to sorting to kitting – while working side by side with human colleagues.

Mission: Robots as trusted coworkers

Together, we’re transforming work flows, reimagining factory floors, and writing a new chapter for next-generation humanoid robots that are designed and built to drive meaningful societal progress.”

Apollo will initially be deployed in logistics and manufacturing and is expected to eventually establish itself in retail, healthcare and finally in private households. The Austin-based company employs nearly 300 employees and has worked on 15 robotic systems to date, including NASA’s Valkyrie robot.
